We support the development of cricket in remote Territory communities

At the recent AGM, our new Chairman presented a cheque for $1000 to NT cricket to help fund its Red Dust program during 2014. This program is aimed at bringing cricket junior cricket carnivals and cricket coaching education to Indigenous youngsters in  remote communities of the NT. The program also supports at adults in these communities with cricket scoring and umpire training.

In 2013  NT Cricket development officers travelled to around 25 remote Indigenous communities providing school clinics for all children.

The program also includes  remote senior cricket carnivals and in  2013, 43 senior teams (including 3 all-female teams and many mixed teams) played in senior cricket carnivals in remote areas of the NT which included:

Tiwi Islands - Winga Shield

Tennant Creek – Rossy Williams Shield

Timber Creek – Dingo Cup

Kalano – Nitmiluk Cup

Borroloola – Barra Cup

Batchelor – Lingalonga Cup
